BBM favourite supplements to compliment your training.

With so many different supplements on the market it can be quite confusing how to decide which supplement works best for you. Over our time we have used many different supplements and at this point in time we use the following to compliment our training.




Protein powder

Protein is the key ingredient to building muscle, so ensuring that you are consuming enough protein is paramount to your training especially when your goal is to build muscle. It is the macronutrient that assists the body to build and repair muscles. It is not stored in your body unlike other macronutrients such as carbohydrates and fats and therefore it is important that you consume in and around your training.

Whilst we try and consume as much protein in our food sometimes you need a good boost and protein powder can definitely get you over the line.


Creatine Monohydrate

This supplement is the only scientifically proven supplement that gets results. Creatine is a substance found naturally in your muscle cells. It assists to increase the storage of ATP within your muscles cells which in turn will assist you in your training by providing you with more energy to carry out each exercise. Not only does is provide benefits to your training but also your general well-being, studies have been conducted and it is suggested that creatine can reduce fatigue and tiredness because it provides your brain with additional energy and can increase dopamine levels.


Magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral that our body uses for every day function. It helps with many processes in our bodies including metabolising food, maintaining a healthy heartbeat, help to regulate muscle contractions and improve the quality of sleep. A lack of magnesium in the body can lead to muscle cramps and even muscle injury. It is recommended that magnesium is taken at night as it helps with sleep and the repair process that occurs whilst we sleep.
