Woman's health

As many of you know, last week was woman’s health week. With the significance of that week in mind, it is incredibly important for us to ensure we continue increase awareness about female health! Health is not however just limited to physical well-being but also our emotional health. As females we often take our health for granted, with one of the key reasons being that we lead such busy lives. We need to remember that our bodies are the only home we need to live in so we need to ensure we look after every single part of it. Physical and mental.




Take time for yourself


Ladies! We need to learn to prioritise ourselves and not fear being labelled as selfish for wanting to be a better version of ourselves. Find some time during your week to take some time out for yourself, even if only for 1 hour. if you have the means, book in a massage, get a dose of vitamin d and go for a walk outside, go the gym, or even just to catch up with friends (if it was me I’d have a vino in hand). This is the time that you need to take a time out for yourself to melt away the daily stresses and just chill the fuck out.


Eat well


Food is paramount, food is energy and it is how we are able to fuel our bodies on a daily basis. It’s important to create and maintain a positive relationship with food, and never deprive yourself or remove food from your diet, instead create a more balance approach to eating. When it comes to creating a eating for your goals keep it simple.


Sleep well


While I have already spoken about this in another post, I continue to reiterate the importance of sleep. Sleep is an integral part of life, to recover not just from training but from the daily stresses and life. While we sleep, our bodies are repairing, including our muscles and hormones. Sleeping the recommended 7-9 hours required for an adult is crucial, especially when you are weight training to ensure you achieve optimal results, not just for your muscles but your health and wellbeing also.
